Kerry McInnes

MSc Rehabilitation Science

200 Hr. Certified Yoga Teacher

Dalhousie Physiotherapy School Grad 2021

BSc NeuroScience

Kerry is a yoga teacher and student of Physiotherapy at Dalhousie. She completed her Master’s of Science in Rehabilitation Research at Dalhousie in 2016 and learned to value an evidence based approach to understanding human movement. She loves to read about the mind and body and translate what she learns into writing. Kerry is a contributing author to the online yoga magazine, Shut Up and Yoga, where she recently wrote an e-book about the pelvic floor for yoga teachers and students.

Kerry strongly believes in the inseparability of mind and body, otherwise known as the mind-body connection. She believes that a movement practice is a beautiful place to explore this fascinating connection. In her teaching, she encourages her students to develop awareness and curiosity of their bodies. She teaches her students to watch and listen to the way their minds and bodies experience and react to both movement and stillness.  Kerry also believes that movement is a powerful tool for injury prevention, rehabilitation, and overall wellness. She looks forward to incorporating these beliefs into her PhysioYoga classes at Synergy and her future physiotherapy practice (Dalhousie 2021).

When Kerry is not learning about the body or teaching yoga, she spends her time cooking, knitting socks, and walking all around Halifax in barefoot shoes with her husband and two greyhounds.
